I am using an unknown hard wood which I turned on the lathe. Started by using the wrong tool but I could tell it wasn’t cutting nicely, so I resorted to looking at the manual. Total man fail. Anyway I turned the block and drilled a 1/4 inch bit. Then I fumbled the camera and missed the next stage. I don’t apologise for my mistakes. Man status revived. What you missed, was my using the flattest tool I could find and re-surfaced the cone so it was true to the bore. I then gave it a gentle sand and used it with a router bit.
