Well that was a fast build. And it looks pretty decent too. I don't particularly want to use the old water-cooled spindle in the photo, but it'll have to do while I test the new electronics I'm currently putting together (which looks like a massive mess.) I haven't been proactive with filming either, but I'll put together an overview at the end. Coming together but I'm noticing the limitations of cheaper parts and working with non-surfaced aluminium. That said I wanted to keep the cost down and I have some ideas (shim washers) to mitigate any issues. Some pictures from cutting the new CNC machine plates in aluminium. The stationary touch probe (green button in third picture) was essential in setting up and changing tools during the job. Think I'm gonna need to bypass the onboard spindle extraction selection doodaa. The pipes are just too small. Better go directly to the ducting with two larger diameter pipes. Ultimately would like to try make a stopping device that's pauses the machine if the airflow drops - due to small part gets stuck in the pipes.
